The Ann Rehan Goebel Foundation is delighted to announce that we are awarding our second annual scholarship in April 2025.

We strongly encourage people from underrepresented groups to apply. Open to high schoolers, college students, and beyond.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants for the Ann Rehan Goebel Foundation scholarship must:

  • Be an Iowa, Nebraska or South Dakota resident

  • Be accepted for enrollment at a two- or four-year college, community college or university as a full-time student with a declared major in a STEM-related field

  • Stand out with an exceptional personal statement essay that describes your dreams and professional goals in STEM.

    *The Ann Rehan Goebel Foundation values every student holistically, and considers all components of the application in accordance with each other. Therefore, this application process honors a nonselective GPA criterion, i.e., there is no minimum GPA requirement.

SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS

A yearly scholarship payment of $1,000 will be awarded annually for the duration of a 4-year undergraduate degree (or for any number of remaining years of a 4-year undergraduate degree), for a potential award of up to $4,000. Annual renewal is contingent upon academic standing.

The scholarship is available to high school seniors and current undergraduate students residing in Iowa, Nebraska or South Dakota who are pursuing or intend to pursue a bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)-related fields.

APPLICATION DOCUMENTS
MUST INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

  • The completed online application portal, which includes a personal statement to be written by the applicant.

  • A signature agreement, found on the final page of the application portal, to the terms and conditions of the maintenance of our yearly scholarship award (preview terms and conditions here).

  • For high school applicants: copy of official high school transcript and official college/university acceptance letter uploaded to the online application form

  • For college and postgraduate students (NOT accepting post-secondary applicants for the 2025 award): copy of latest college transcript and latest official college/university acceptance letter uploaded to the online application form

  • Two signed recommendation letters with no more than 1,000 words per letter to be sent by the writers of the letters directly to info@argfoundation.org with the subject line: “[STUDENT NAME] Letter of Recommendation.” Steps for this process are clearly outlined in the application portal.

2024 SCHOLARSHIP TIMELINE

  • Scholarship applications will be accepted beginning on January 1, 2025.

  • Scholarship applications must be received before 11:59 pm CST on March 9, 2025.

  • The recipient of the inaugural Ann Rehan Goebel Foundation scholarship will be notified by April 13, 2025, and is invited to the award presentation at the ARG Gala on May 9.
